L-Erythrulose
Product Description:
L-Erythrulose is also called Erythrulose or DHB which is a natural ketose that appears as a yellow, highly viscous liquid and needs to be refrigerated. L-Erythrulose is generally used in combination with 1,3-Dihydroxyacetone(DHA) to deepen the color of DHA and make its distribution more even. L-Erythrulose is a self-tanning agent for smooth tanning of the skin.
Product Pictures:
As a natural ketose, Erythrulose is widely used in the cosmetics industry, especially as a tanning agent. L-Erythrulose can react with keratin amino acids on the outside of the skin or in the dead surface layer, turning the skin brown, thus achieving a tanning effect. L-Erythrulose has the advantages of slowly darkening the skin, producing a natural, homogeneous and lasting tan, no special smell, skin safety, and moisturizing the skin.
Erythrulose is a hyaluronic acid monomer which is the basic composition unit of important organism polysaccharides. It extensively exists in the exoskeletons of shellfish and has become a new type of biochemical drugs, drug intermediates , high-end cosmetics and food additives for the important functions, such as immunity enhancement, antioxidant, keeping moisture, anti-free radicals, etc.
In cosmetics, the combination of L-Erythrulose and Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) can deepen the color and distribute DHA more evenly. This joint use method is formulated at concentrations of 1% -3% and in aqueous phase below 40 ºC. The function of L-Erythrulose is not only to deepen the color, but also to react with the free amino groups of keratin in the epidermal stratum corneum, producing a coloring effect similar to the Meidra reaction. This reaction mechanism is similar to the dynamic process of natural sun tanning, but it can avoid the damage of sun exposure to the skin and protect the skin from UV damage. Therefore, the application of L-Erythrulose in tanning products can provide a natural, long-lasting, and stripe free tanning effect, while avoiding the inconvenience and potential risks of traditional sun exposure.

Function:
•Natural-looking tan:
Erythrulose provides a sun-kissed, natural-looking tan without the need for sun exposure. By reacting with the amino acids in the skin's keratin proteins, it creates a temporary browning effect, giving the appearance of a natural tan.
•Reduced risk of skin damage:
Since Erythrulose helps achieve a tan without exposing the skin to harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays, it reduces the risk of skin damage associated with sun exposure, such as premature aging, sunburn, and increased risk of skin cancer.
•Improved tanning results:
When combined with other tanning agents like Dihydroxyacetone (DHA), Erythrulose can improve the overall tanning effect, resulting in a more even, longer-lasting tan with less streaking or patchiness. This synergy between Erythrulose and DHA ensures a more desirable and consistent tanning outcome.
•Gentle on the skin:
Erythrulose is generally well-tolerated and gentle on the skin, making it suitable for a wide range of skin types, including normal, dry, oily, and combination skin.
